Rowan Cottage is a unique dog friendly two-bedroom property sleeping four guests.
Fully renovated in 2025, this cottage boasts many original features, a gas log effect fire, a five-seater hot tub, cottage garden and its very own games room making it the perfect countryside escape for all family and friends. Every aspect and furnishing has been carefully picked to create this homely, quaint and cosy cottage.

Please note there is a two night minimum stay at Rowan Cottage.

About The Property

Situated in the heart of the village, the front entrance of the cottage benefits from a private driveway. It is everything you would expect of a Victorian cottage other than the rear garden which boasts a hot tub and seating area and the third storey of the cottage featuring a games room, reading nook and dressing area.

Using the front door, you will enter the lounge with its feature fireplace, log effect fire and Smart TV. The large window cascades natural light into the lounge making it the perfect room to relax and admire the views of the Lanchester Railway line.
As you head through the living room into the kitchen you will discover a dining area, the traditional wooden table and forms easily seats four people. An ideal sized kitchen is fully equipped for all your needs- with a gas hob, fan oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and integrated washer dryer, you will have everything you need to cook as little or as much as you desire.
Within the kitchen is a great seating area with a sofa, Smart TV and patio doors looking out onto the rear garden- a great spot to sit at while the food is cooking or to simply admire the beautiful walled garden.
As you head up the stairs from the lounge you will discover two bedrooms- the first bedroom with an elegant double bed, triple wardrobe, dressing table and Smart TV. The master bedroom comprises of a double bed, Smart TV and double wardrobe.
Heading up the stairs from the master bedroom, you will find a dressing table set amongst beautiful original beams. This diverse area is also home to a games room and reading nook- the perfect area to enjoy family time together or perhaps a moment to yourself with a novel. The modern bathroom benefits from a bath with an overhead shower, a vanity unit with a Bluetooth LED mirror and luxury toiletries.
Externally, the rear garden comprises of a five-seater hot tub, planted borders, lawn, seating area and bicycle storage area. The fully secluded garden makes for a great evening with family and friends. The cottage is situated next to the Lanchester Valley Walk and with many other routes surrounding the village, it is the perfect rural retreat.
Dogs are welcome at £20 per stay. This covers our extra cleaning costs and includes a welcome hamper for your dog. Maximum of 2 well behaved dogs allowed to stay at Rowan Cottage.
