Lanchester Garden Centre
A family-owned garden centre nestled in the rolling hills of Lanchester. With a restaurant, gift shop, aquatics centre, ice cream parlour and zoo, it is a great day out for all the family. Dog friendly!
Potters World
Adventure into a tropical village home to free flying birds, reptiles, birds of prey and tropical fish. Located within Lanchester Garden Centre, Potters world is also home to a great indoor and outdoor play area divided into educational zones.
Raby Castle
Raby is without doubt one of the most impressive intact castles in the North of England. Built in the 14th century by the powerful Neville family, it has a long history. Discover the castle, Plotters Forest, Deer Park, Café Yurt and the Stables Shop. A great day out for all ages.
Hall Hill Farm
Home to all your typical farm animals and more! The farm has been in the Gibson family since 1925 and is over 700 acres in size. With tractor rides, lamb feeding, animal handling, a playbarn, crazy golf and much more, you are sure to have a great day out.
Beamish
Beamish is a world-famous open-air museum which brings the history of North East England to life at its 1820s Pockerley, 1900s Town, 1900s Pit Village, 1940s Farm, 1950s Town and 1950s Spain’s Field Farm exhibit areas. It also boasts a fun fair for all ages.

Spotless, spacious and very stylish. Beautiful bathrooms. Family agreed it was superior to many places they had visited on AirBnB!! Right in the centre of a delightful village with restaurants, take-outs and great individual shops.

Lovely house and very friendly and accommodating host. Perfect for our family of 6 plus dog. Very comfortable and the Christmas tree and hamper (including one for Bella, our dog) were lovely, welcoming additional touches.
